“2021 Best Commercial Space Design Project”: New Fun New Play @ SM Lifestyle Center

 Aug. 5th, on the awarding ceremony held in Weihai, China, during 2022 Link-shop Annual Conference, Overall Upgrade of SM Lifestyle Center was recognized as “2021 Best Commercial Space Design Project”.

SM Lifestyle Center, as the first "lifestyle" commercial project opened in China by SM Group, one of the largest integrated property developers in Southeast Asia, completed its visual, experiential and marketing upgrades in 2021, which is a new departure with more refreshing lifestyle attempts.

Cooperated with Benoy, a well-known British architectural design company, the new visual design echoes the three themed buildings’ name: "Ruby, Topaz and Sapphire". With simple, intelligent and recognizable signage, these three themed metallic colors have been dynamically linked in the mall. In addition, the opening of the main entrance of Topaz has been expanded and the wall has been transformed into brand windows to enhance the sense of customer attraction. The overall architectural is airier, classier and more vibrant.

In terms of experiential upgrade, the project has added more than 200 sqms of public rest area on the basis of the original 60% space for public area and greenery. It has also raised the safety glass fence on each floor and added heat insulation film on the roof of PV integration. The restrooms have enhanced the privacy of the partition while nursery room and unisex toilets optimized nursing layout and devices. The environment design brings more safety, comforts and cares.

Use unlimited imagination to create nonstop adventure. During the renovation, SM Lifestyle Center innovated the "Heart of the City" theme exhibition, with a 10-meter-high "Beating Heart", reaching more than 7 million people online and offline. When the renovation was unveiled, SM Lifestyle Center joined hands with Mao Ting, an avant-garde artist and visual director of ‘I Can I bibi’ program to use bold and different colors to highlight the youth, interest and diversity of lifestyles... More than 11 million people have been reached online and offline in nearly one month.
