SM Prime Opens its 67th Mall--SM City Tianjin

(17 December 2016, Tianjin, China) SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SM Prime), one of the leading integrated property companies in Southeast Asia, opens its 67th mall, SM City Tianjin on December 17th , 2016. SM City Tianjin, an unprecedented masterpiece of SM Group, is Bohai Economic Rim’s new landmark. The newest destination offering diversified shopping, dining, entertainment, leisure and cultural experiences, would be the largest one-stop world-class lifestyle center.

SM City Tianjin is located in Tianjin’s Airport Economic Area which has the largest free trade zone in Northern China. The newest mall would add more than 560,000 Sqm in GFA when completely open. The five buildings of the mall are named after the Chinese traditional "Five Elements" - Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth. The shopping mall is now in soft opening and mainly covers the first and second floor areas of the Water Ring, Wood Ring and some of the junctions in Gold Ring (connecting the Water Ring and Wood Ring) . Ten opening tenants mix include fashion, supermarkets, cinemas, restaurants, kids, parent-child, leisure and entertainment, beauty, services, sports, etc. The Earth Ring is the parking building and provides more than 8700 parking lots for shoppers’ convenience.

In this April, Bravo YH, IFREE, Decathlon, Acasia Food Court, Korea Plaza, Jiawen Theme Park and other anchor tenants have signed to settle in SM City Tianjin. At present, these brands have opened or partly opened.

Bravo YH, one of the top 500 Chinese enterprises, opens its modern brand supermarket Bravo. It has 7638 square meters of business area, selling products that not only has high quality, but also are  environmental-friendly.

IFREE Cinema brings the latest cinema technology – STARMAX with 26-meter giant screen laser.

Decathlon, 40-year-old French sports supermarket , , covers the area of nearly 4,500 square meters, providing nearly 35,000 kinds of sports equipment; In addition, it offers a unique 600 square meters of basketball courts.

As for the catering part ,SM City Tianjin provides about 30 F&B shops. Among them, Acasia Food Court, covers an area of 1300 square meters, provides various Chinese and Western cuisine.

Besides the anchors, a variety of brands can meet the shopping and experience demand of customers. Such as retail brands (e.g. Watsons, Home of Samonite, Suma, Glass Miki, TenFu Tea, Baerdi) , Kids brands (e.g. Happy Play Country, Myland,  Shuxiangyuan). It also runs service brands of bank , telecom, SPA, and nail salon, etc.

h as, SM Department Stores, discovery park, theme shops, restaurants, Family entertainment center (FEC), beauty & fitness, IT stores, bookstores, etc.

SM Prime opened SM City East Ortigas in December 2nd, SM-Cherry Congressional last November 25th  as well as SM City San Jose Del Monte in April and SM City Trece Martires in May 2016. With SM City Tianjin, the Company now owns 67 malls which brings the combined GFA to 9 million sqm.
