Mall China, an authority in the industry of shopping malls, officially announced that SM Group was listed as "Mall China Golden Mall Awards 2020 Thirty-year Meritorious Company" atThe 18th Annual Conference of Mall China International Forum & 2020 Asian Shopping Center Development Cooperation Conference held from October 21 to 23. Also, SM China won two awards in 2020 China's shopping mall industry for its creative projects and outstanding performance in the marketing field.
As China's shopping mall industry stepped in its 30th year of industrial journey this year, Mall China based on research results of industrial cycle and three dimensions to evaluate the development of China’s shopping centers: cross-cycle endurance, innovative leadership and up-to-date operation. The project "Tree of Moment" set up three technical devices: "Tree of Inspiration", "Time Keeping Station" and "Human Laboratory" respectively in SM City Xiamen, SM Lifestyle Center and SM Skywalk to provide interactive experience of "self-dialogue", "stories of meeting others" and "active connection with people". It breaks the social barriers between strangers and build a retentive station for the city’s common memory. This one-month campaign reached 3 million people with its novelty, ornamental value and topic discussion, at last, the total page view of the topic on new media platforms exceeded 20 million times.

On October 21, Mall China held the "2020 Council of Asian Shopping Centers Anti-epidemic Experience Sharing Webinar", which brought together the chairpersons and industry leaders of CASC from Asian countries. Mr. Steven T. Tan, President of SM Supermalls, was invited to share the related experience in the Philippines in the form of online speech.
Mr. Steven noted that as global COVID-19 pandemic has presented a great challenge to every business around the world, " We must be united in the spirit of service. It is the mission of 'serving our customers and communities' that endows us the courage to innovate.” Moreover, He proposed three priorities of innovation under new situation for SM Supermalls. First, optimizing tenancy and merchandise mix to meet the new market demands generated by the pandemic, as well as carrying out active marketing.
